Having grown up in Methodist and Baptist Churches till about 36 years of age, I was taught the fundamentals that God's Word is Truth, God is love and He is Almighty God. At sixteen I was injured in a workshop when, as an apprentice, I fell down a grease pit onto my spine, badly injuring it. For twenty years I suffered pain believing I was bearing it for Jesus. I had also been taught that Healing wasn't for today in most cases, and believed this until I came to the end of myself, suffering much pain with the degeneration of the spinal injuries which were restricting, progressively, the use of my legs.
I usually woke early each day in pain and would sit and watch TV to distract me from the pain. One Sunday morning in 1981 in this situation I saw the first TV programme of Kenneth Copeland Ministries on Sydney TV. I called my wife to come and hear Kenneth and Gloria teach the Word like I had always believed in my heart but had never heard it taught. It was a Miracle Service and I saw Gloria minister to people in wheelchairs and they rose up and walked.
Through this programme I received faith and hope for my own situation. I knew God could heal if He wanted to, but how to get Him to want to, I didn't know. As a result of this programme I was lead to seek Him for healing and grew in Faith through some of KCM's early Faith and Authority series' of tapes, wearing out several tape players. I received ministry through Dr. Don Tredway from Tulsa for my spine. During that ministry I fell out under the power of the Holy Spirit and I heard God speak to me and say "You are not to say anything about your body you can't find in My Word".
So I applied the principles of faith I had learnt. Using my Authority in Jesus, speaking to the mountain and applying God's Word as medicine to my flesh and I was healed. Over an 18 month period the vertebrae in my spine that were so badly degenerated were recreated.
I was working in my own Motor Engineering Business at the time when the Lord said to me, "I didn't heal you to watch TV more comfortably. I want you to share what has happened to you and heal the sick." This would take a miracle, I was happy under someone's car but I never spoke publicly.
God performed this miracle too! First I began to share my testimony, then I would be asked to pray for the sick. I had the opportunity to go to Fiji on two ministry trips where I saw every miracle in the Bible happen before my eyes as God moved in a mighty way. I had discovered that Jesus is the same today as He was yesterday. I came home with God's call on my life and a determination that I would not rest untill I saw those miracles happening in Australia. We closed our Automotive workshop and began to work part time for the Lord teaching the Faith principles that I had learnt, in home groups. Soon the Lord called me to full time ministry and to establish Miracle Ministries. The Lord chose the name because He wanted people to come believing for Miracles. over the last two years as we have established our own centre we have had many people coming in need, expecting a miracle because of the name the Lord chose.
Kenneth always said "Don't take my word. Check it in your own Bible and study for yourself." I did just that and as I pressed into God as my source, He gave me a teaching ministry. In 1985 the Lord called us to establish and pastor a Church. Ths was to be a base from which the Healing Ministry would operate.
Our vision has been to train and equip people to minister Healing as a tool of evangelism under the direction and in submission to their Pastors. To this end we have run over 70 Schools of Miracles around Australia and in the USA, Canada, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, France, the Czech Republic and 15 Outreaches to Fiji where we have been involved in Revival in the South Pacific.
Our vision for the centre we have established in Westmead is to be a Healing Centre in close proximity to Westmead hospital (the largest hospital complex in the southern hemisphere). This is a centre where people can have access to Healing Ministry on a regular basis.
Our vision is also to use this centre as a training centre to train people in the Healing Ministry and to be a base from which teams can go out on Evangelistic Outreach both in Australia and Overseas.
During the 1990's God placed on my heart that He wanted us to establish a base in the USA. I told Him that He would have to make the way because we didn't have the contacts or money to do it. Well several years later that base is now established in Richmond, Virginia. He has provided at every step. Now with a base on opposite sides of the world we can reach out much more efficiently and go where and when God leads to teach people that God still heals today.
