I've lost my password. Help!!
You may want to print this out to help you.
If you've lost your password then simply click on "View Account" from the main menu. Since you're not logged in, the web site (being very clever in such things) will figure out that it can't show you your account because it doesn't know who you are and will display a special log in screen. You will see three sections, the last one talks about a lost password. Type in the name you use to log in into the box labeled nickname and click the send password button (don't worry about the confirmation code box yet).
The confirmation code will be emailed to you. Go back to that page and type in you user name again and this time enter the confirmation code that was sent to you. Click send password again and a new password will be created and emailed to you. You can now log in using you user name and this new password and then, if you wish, change the password (for instructions on how to do this see Special Sections from the main menu for our Website features section of articles on user profiles).
Why such a procedure? Those of you who have used sites like this in the past may have seen a security problem where people can type in your user name to have a new password sent to you. Anyone could do that. Sure the password was sent to you and not them but you had to copy the new password from the email and go back in and change it to the way it was. Well the system of confirmation codes fixes that. You password isn't changed unless the confirmation code is entered ensuring that you requested the new password and not someone else.
Any questions?
